I’m a retired reporter and editor who spent 20 years working at small town newspapers in rural Texas. I have a lot of interests and things to get off my chest, maybe a few stories about things I’ve seen.

I started this blog because I’ve been out of the game for several years and I miss writing. Social media just doesn’t scratch that itch. It’s mostly too limited and hostile. I don’t like arguing. Got that out of my system a long time ago.

Why “Late Boomer”? It’s a play on words. I’m always running late. I’m always putting things off till the last minute. Like this blog.

And I’m technically a Baby Boomer, but I’m a “late” boomer, born right at the tail end. Generation Jones seems to fit, but that’s never gonna catch on.

I’m really into music, books, science, philosophy, politics, basically everything. This could get extremely nerdy. I can get pretty niche and my taste in music is all over the place.

I’ve changed a lot since I became a mostly progressive city dweller. But I’m still a country boy at heart. Hopefully normies and other country boys can relate to some of it.
